A collaboration connecting the skiing experience with gastronomy and extra virgin olive oils produced in an extreme climate.
The skiing experience goes beyond the time spent on the slopes. It starts before putting on your skis, continues when the day comes to an end, and is also enjoyed around a good table. Food is part of that experience, which is why Ski Paradise is launching a collaboration with Emán Vara Gourmet, a brand specialising in extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) that shares an idea with the world of skiing: demanding conditions can make all the difference.
Two worlds shaped by demanding conditions
In the mountains, snow, cold, altitude and changing weather are all part of the challenge. In Emán Vara Gourmet’s olive groves, significant temperature fluctuations, very cold winters and hot summers shape the development of the olive trees and their fruit.
These conditions are at the heart of the concept of extreme-climate EVOO, one of Emán Vara Gourmet’s defining characteristics. The olive tree’s adaptation to a demanding environment, the fruit’s maturation and the characteristics of each harvest are all part of the story behind these oils.
Among the brand’s products are 12+1, the extreme-climate EVOO, and Castelum, two oils that offer different expressions of the brand’s gastronomic approach.
Gastronomy to enjoy beyond the slopes
The collaboration between Ski Paradise and Emán Vara Gourmet aims to bring gastronomy and healthy eating closer to the skiing community through useful content, culinary ideas and products suited to different moments of the experience — from breakfast before heading to the slopes to meals enjoyed after a day of skiing.
Throughout the season, we will develop several initiatives, including “Mountain Flavours”, a series of gastronomic ideas inspired by seasonal ingredients, and “Breakfast Before Hitting the Slopes”, featuring practical ideas to start the day.
We will also explore what it means to produce extreme-climate EVOO and how environmental conditions influence the work carried out in the olive groves.
